TECHNICAL MATH
PUBLIC WORKSHOP
(This program is
also available on DVD (Self-Directed Learning) and course materials
including PowerPoint and student workbooks can be made available for
your internal instructors' needs).
On the shop floor, skilled workers who perform specialized tasks
must be competent in more than simple arithmetic. For instance,
setup and layout requires workers to solve more complex math
problems relating to setup and inspection applications.
This course gives workers a
practical foundation in algebra, plane geometry and trigonometry. It
allows them to solve triangles equations and formulas, and calculate
dimensions of the geometric shapes that represent most part features
- triangles, quadrilaterals, circles and hexagons. It focuses on
typical shop floor and inspection applications, so workers can
quickly use their new skills on the job.
