Manufacturing companies are increasingly searching for qualified CMM Programmers. This course will help to equip you for a more rewarding and challenging position in the quality field. It is perfect for those who have a working knowledge of certain brands of CMMs and would like to learn additional brands, as well as for those who would like to enter the CMM field (if prerequisites are met).

Prerequisites: It is very important that all students of this course to have some basic knowledge prior to attending this CMM training course so that students within the class are not held back. Each
registrant will need to complete and pass a pre-skills examination to determine his/her experience and knowledge in the following areas:
  • Knowledge of Print Reading of drawings with tolerances
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Knowledge of Basic Dimensional Measurement Tools
  • Basic knowledge of PC and Windows
  • Pre-work instruction - Reading the training manual

If you lack experience in these areas and you do not pass the pre-skills test, we offer various courses that will give you the knowledge necessary meet the prerequisites in order to to take the CMM course - The public offerings for these prerequisite courses can be found on the calendar. Other less expensive self-directed learning options to help the student to meet the prerequisites are available. Please call or email us for these options.

  • Length options:
      - 3 consecutive days, or
      - 4 evenings, 2 evenings per week

    Times for the consecutive 3-day course:
    8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with one-hour lunch

    Times for the 4-evening course:
    Two evenings per week, 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

    For best results, we have a maximum of 4 students per session

    • CMM instruction by an expert CMM Programmer who is also a Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)

    • Part Programming
    • Part program management
    • Nesting programs
    • Editing programs
    • DCC status

    The following Coordinate Measuring Machines available. (The CMM workshop will focus on only one of them and will be determined on a rotating basis):

    • Brown and Sharpe® 7107 with PC-DMIS® and CURVES®
    • Zeiss Contura® with Calypso® or U-Soft® (currently U-Soft training is only available via customized training)
    • Faro® Portable CMM with AnthroCam® v2.32
    • OGP Avant® and Avant Zip with MeasureMind Ver. 10.56 software (SmartScope uses MeasureMind also)
